She stepped towards Jar Jar whilst raising both hands into a common praying position in front of her body. "I mean you no harm Jar Jar," she assured the trembling Gungan. She outstretched each arm and placed a hand on both of Jar Jar's shoulders. "I only wish to talk and spend some time with you. Please be seated again, young Gungan," she continued. Jar Jar immediately did as he was told, and was too dumbstruck to speak. He just gawped at this member of the elder species, which seemed to amuse her no end as she continued to smile at him.
"I believe you know what I am, so I will say no more on that. I rarely show myself to anyone anymore, and this will be the last time that I do. Do not worry about the guards over there, as they will awaken once I have gone. I have waited a long time to talk to someone like you, and you could not have picked a better time to come here. Many things will soon be changing on Naboo. My people are already long gone from here, and to a place I will not say. But before I depart myself, I want to tell you a little about this holy of places and what happened here. Cast your mind back a long, long time ago, Jar Jar, when Naboo's core was just becoming stable."
She explained that her people were an extremely advanced species and very strong in the Force. They had joined the then recently-formed Republic, helped protect nearby hyperspace routes, and opened their planet to trade and visitors. The ruins they now sat in was once a great temple where Jedi from all over the Galaxy flocked to learn more about the Force as the elder race's force-users were extremely respected. Many became Jedi Masters and some were appointed to the Jedi Council. This peaceful existence was occasionally threatened by war, but in the end the Republic and Naboo resolved conflicts without much bloodshed. Her people were very long-lived and so helped the younger, less experienced, species to develop at a suitable pace. The elder species took special interest in the Gungans back on their home planet. This race was lovingly nurtured. In honour of past Jedi Masters, the immense sculpted heads were added to the temple design over the centuries. The future was bright.
Then along came a corrupt Jedi who had secretly fallen into dark ways. He stayed in the temple on Naboo, and unbeknownst to the Jedi Masters, slowly formed a group of followers who felt the same desire for power. He taught that denial of a thirst for power was a denial of the inner callings of the Force and the Soul. Whilst he gained more followers and power, Jedi Temples were being built around the known Galaxy. When the dark Jedi leader felt that he had enough might, he turned on the Jedi Masters of the Naboo temple and slaughtered all of them. He and his dark Jedi followers then enslaved the rest of the elder race and the Gungans.
Once news spread of this dark Jedi uprising reached Coruscant, the outcry from the Jedi Order was unanimous. A century long war began, the first great Schism of the Jedi Order. Millions upon millions of innocent people had been killed, hundreds of thousands of Jedi died and too many worlds were scarred in the terrible conflict. More Jedi joined the dark side and the war escalated. After a hundred years of bloodshed, and in a last bid to end the war, the desperate Jedi made a bold and daring push for Naboo which had become the stronghold of the dark Jedi. The resulting battle caused much damage to Naboo itself and her people. Though the temple stronghold lay in ruins, victory seemed impossible for the Jedi, but then the dark Jedi's lines faltered. The Jedi pushed the advantage and forced their enemy into retreat. The dark Jedi fled into their spaceships, lifted off from Naboo, and vanished into unknown space. The war was over, but at a terrible cost.
